Life Care’s Alamosa facilities take part in Nurses Week proclamation

On May 2, 2018, the city of Alamosa, Colorado, proclaimed it to be National Nurses Week during its regular City Council meeting.

Alamosa Mayor Ty Coleman and the city councilors made the proclamation, and several associates from Evergreen Nursing Home and San Luis Care Center, both in Alamosa, attended....

Evergreen Nursing Home honors volunteers

Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa, Colorado, hosted its annual Volunteer Appreciation Party on April 17, 2018, at a local restaurant, Juanito’s.

More than 25 volunteers, including two resident volunteers, attended the party....

Evergreen Nursing Home hosts fun Easter events

For Easter 2018, Maria Quintana, activity director, planned a full week of activities for the residents at Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa, Colorado.

In preparation for their big Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday, Quintana had residents and associates stuffing more than 300 plastic eggs and coloring more than 200 hard-boiled eggs....

Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa, Colorado, recently completed its annual state survey with no deficiencies.

To pass the state survey each year, nursing facilities must meet hundreds of criteria. These address not only nursing care and resident safety, but also patients’ rights, food services, administration and the facility’s environment....

AQ Project donates sensory quilts to Evergreen Nursing Home residents

On Aug. 4, 2017, ladies from the AQ Project delivered 10 sensory lap quilts to residents on the memory care unit at Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa, Colorado.

AQ stands for Alzheimer’s Quilts, and the nonprofit organization makes and donates quilts to seniors with dementia as well as to blind babies and individuals with sensory perception issues....

On Nov. 4, 2015, Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa, Colorado, hosted a special vow renewal ceremony for resident Mina Rose Owens and her husband, Monty, in honor of their 60th anniversary.

Multiple associates worked together to put the event together for the Owenses.
